Doing it for around five years, started in 2016/7 giving haircuts to the homeless: have given over 2,000 haircuts in that time. 600, 800, 1000 (yearly target). Things have gotten more expensive since the lockdown which is why we need your help to keep running.
Hi, I’m Sam Crew and I’ve been running the Crew Experience in Fulham and Putney for over twenty-two years, and it’s been an honour becoming a part of these communities over the years.
One of the most rewarding aspects I’ve found in my work is hearing peoples’ stories as they sit in my chair. I’ve worked hard to create a relaxing, luxurious environment in each of my grooming shops and I think this helps people feel comfortable sharing their experiences. Who they are, how they got here, and what battles they face daily. We all come from vastly different backgrounds, and this is what I believe makes life and community so special.
But many of us have not had it easy, and it’s in times like these that kindness and compassion are needed most.
So to help give something back to people in West London, I run a mobile barbering van on the weekends to offer free haircuts to the homeless and others in need. Everyone deserves their dignity and the opportunity to look and feel their best, and I’m doing what I can to help that cause.
But even the best causes cost money to keep running, and I’d like to ask for your help so I can carry on offering these services. If you’re in a position to donate and would like to sponsor a haircut, this is the place to do it.
